Writing this book was mainly motivated by my observation that a great number of university graduates submit papers to numerous high-ranking journals in the hope of immediate acceptance, and yet to their dismay, oftentimes their papers are rejected on the grounds that the writing style needs to be revised in terms of vocabulary items and structure. A close look at the available books on the market reveals that despite the paramount importance of this issue, few serious attempts have been made to address the graduates’ pressing need for access to such a source. With a view to helping the graduate students intending to write like natives, I set out to write a book that assists prospective writers in polishing their works before submitting them for publication. Although care was exercised to provide readers with a book which caters for the varying needs of researchers in diverse fields, this book might be particularly useful for students majoring in the field of humanities.
